“To hear Neon Ballroom songs in London before the album's release, in a two-camera edit.”
Context
February 1999 finds Silverchair presenting material from Neon Ballroom before it hits the stores. At the Electric Ballroom, in London, the new songs come into a long sequence, among compositions from Frogstomp and Freak Show. The show occupies a moment of passage, still before the third album's full release.
Slave and Pure Massacre open the way for Emotion Sickness and Ana’s Song. Paint Pastel Princess and Miss You Love also appear. Daniel Johns takes on Cemetery alone and repeats the format on Tomorrow, in the encore; between those moments, the set returns to Abuse Me, The Door and Freak.
No Association and Spawn Again close the show. The document combines two audience recordings, later edited into a two-camera mix. The sequence preserves nineteen songs and a portrait of the third album when it still shared the stage with the anticipation of its release.
