Context
On May 27, 1996, Pinkpop gathers K's Choice, Skunk Anansie and Alanis Morissette on the same Monday. The festival has just adopted a three-day format. For the Antwerp group, Paradise in Me and Not an Addict pave the way to this stage in Landgraaf.
Sam Bettens takes lead vocals, with Gert Bettens and Jan van Sichem Jr. on guitars, Erik Verheyden on bass and Bart van der Zeeuw on drums. Skin joins on Not an Addict. The guest spot brings two bands on that bill together and puts a concrete face on the meeting of their paths.
The TV broadcast carries the festival beyond Megaland. In August, Paradise in Me reaches the American market; two years later, Cocoon Crash expands the discography. The recording preserves this passage between European breakthrough and international reach, with Skin's visit as the meeting point.
