Context
On May 19, 1997, the Pinkpop north stage ends its program with a British band that had conquered the United States. Bush reaches Landgraaf after taking Razorblade Suitcase to number one in America. The second album, recorded with Steve Albini, carries a tour that runs through the European festivals.
Gavin Rossdale takes vocals and guitar, alongside Nigel Pulsford, Dave Parsons and Robin Goodridge. A Tendency to Start Fires opens a sequence that splits ten songs evenly between the first two albums. Greedy Fly, Insect Kin and Cold Contagious anchor the new record; Glycerine, Everything Zen and Comedown lead the final stretch up to Little Things.
The Megaland stop is part of a world tour that runs until November. Dutch television includes Bush in its evening coverage of the festival, alongside dEUS, Live and Beck. The recording remains a document of the original lineup on the road with the second album, before the band explored remixes on Deconstructed and other directions on The Science of Things.
- Ten songs split the show evenly between Sixteen Stone and Razorblade Suitcase.
