Context
On May 27, 1996, Pinkpop reaches the last day of its first three-day edition. On Megaland's north stage, in Landgraaf, Skunk Anansie appears among the names on a lineup that also includes Radiohead and Bush. The band has only one album out.
Skin takes the vocals with Ace on guitar, Cass on bass and Mark Richardson on drums. The quartet opens with Little Baby Swastikkka and has to improvise while the pedals are fixed. Further on, All I Want stops and starts over. The interruptions are part of a run carried mostly by songs from the debut.
Later that year, Stoosh hits stores and gives a permanent home to Twisted (Everyday Hurts) and All I Want, already present in this show. The recording preserves this passage between the first two records: Paranoid & Sunburnt still holds the center, but the next chapter is already gaining ground on the festival stage.
- All I Want comes with a false start and a restart, months before the release of Stoosh.
