“To see Bush's Pinkpop debut with the original lineup, still on the Sixteen Stone tour.”
Context
On May 27, 1996, Bush reaches Pinkpop for the first time after winning a bigger audience in the United States than at home. In Landgraaf, the English band is still on the road with Sixteen Stone, with the second album on the horizon and the four original members on stage.
Gavin Rossdale takes vocals and guitar alongside Nigel Pulsford, Dave Parsons and Robin Goodridge. Machinehead opens an eleven-song sequence, nine of them from the debut album. Old and Bubbles come in among the lesser-known titles; Comedown, Glycerine and Everything Zen keep the link to the singles that put the group on American radio.
Little Things closes the show before the next phase. Later in 1996, Razorblade Suitcase follows the debut and reaches number one in the United States. The Pinkpop footage remains a document of that interval: in March 2026, the festival archive releases the full performance, almost thirty years later.
