Luiz Antônio Feliciano Marcondes was born in Rio de Janeiro and grew up between Nova Iguaçu and Nilópolis. He started as lead singer of the bloco Leão de Iguaçu in 1970 and arrived at Beija-Flor in 1975.

His first record came out in 1980; as singer and songwriter, he recorded sambas-enredo and songs such as “O Campeão”. In 2024, he announced he would stop leading the samba school’s parade songs after the 2025 Carnival, without ending his singing career.
