Context
Ten days separate Perfect Symmetry's arrival in British stores from this night at KOKO. On October 23, 2008, Keane takes over the Camden venue for the BBC Electric Proms. The third album had already reached number one in the UK; now it gets room on an expanded stage.
Tom Chaplin leads fifteen songs, with Tim Rice-Oxley on keyboards, Richard Hughes on drums and Jesse Quin on bass. Additional musicians and a string quartet join the performance. The Lovers Are Losing opens the set; Spiralling and Love Is the End share space with Everybody's Changing, Atlantic and Somewhere Only We Know.
The encore starts with Perfect Symmetry and ends with Bedshaped, passing through Is It Any Wonder?. The album's tour runs into 2009, but this night stays tied to the Electric Proms format: a performance with an expanded lineup, preserved by the BBC broadcast, at the start of the new album's run.
- The encore gathers Perfect Symmetry, Is It Any Wonder? and Bedshaped.
