Context
On May 30, 2009, Chris Cornell reaches Megaland with a recent change to present. Scream, released in March, brings his solo career close to the electronic pop produced by Timbaland. At Pinkpop, that material shares space with the bands that defined his path, without being reduced to a brief passage.
Part of Me, Time and Watch Out open the show in sequence. Cornell sings backed by guitarists Yogi Lonich and Peter Thorn, bassist Corey McCormick and drummer Jason Sutter. Hunger Strike revisits Temple of the Dog; Spoonman makes room for a Led Zeppelin passage before Be Yourself and Cochise.
The Scream title track comes near the end, before Black Hole Sun closes the performance. The meeting of the new album and the past is documented by the Rockpalast cameras, which film the festival for television. In February 2026, the official Pinkpop archive releases the full performance, preserving this slice of his solo career.
- Spoonman takes in Good Times Bad Times, by Led Zeppelin.
