Context
After almost five years of residency in Las Vegas, Céline Dion returns to the road with the Taking Chances World Tour. On September 15, 2008, the journey reaches Madison Square Garden. The night gets a special meeting: Charice, a 16-year-old Filipino singer introduced to Oprah Winfrey's audience, comes on stage.
The two share Because You Loved Me, and the duet gets an ovation. Around that meeting, Céline crosses her 1990s ballads with Taking Chances, Eyes on Me and My Love. Barnev Valsaint sings I'm Your Angel; Andrea Bocelli appears in a virtual duet on The Prayer. Queen also enters the sequence, in a medley.
The tour runs until February 2009 and then goes two separate ways: the film Celine: Through the Eyes of the World and the official concerts recorded in Boston and Montreal. The meeting with Charice makes it into the documentary. This audience recording, meanwhile, preserves the New York sequence, though it cuts off My Heart Will Go On before the end.
- Because You Loved Me brings the two singers together and later appears in Celine: Through the Eyes of the World.
