“To see Sepultura take Arise to the Finnish Giants of Rock in the early months of the 1991 tour.”
Context
In July 1991, the Ahvenisto circuit in Hämeenlinna welcomes a Sepultura that has just widened its reach with Arise. After Beneath the Remains, the quartet recorded in Florida with Scott Burns. Now it takes its fourth album to Europe, on a tour that runs through 1991 and 1992.
On the Giants of Rock stage, Max Cavalera shares guitar duties with Andreas Kisser, while Paulo Jr. and Igor Cavalera complete the quartet. Mass Hypnosis opens the surviving sequence. Dead Embryonic Cells, Desperate Cry, Altered State and Under Siege put the new album in contact with Slaves of Pain and Troops of Doom.
Orgasmatron and Polícia make room for Motörhead and Titãs without abandoning the band's own repertoire, which also includes Beneath the Remains. The road continues into 1992, while another night from this period gets an official release as Under Siege, filmed in Barcelona. The Finnish stop remains a distinct record of that international expansion.
- Polícia closes the set in Portuguese, right after Orgasmatron.
