“To see Sepultura's farewell tour pass through the 25th edition of Vive Latino with Greyson Nekrutman.”
Context
The 25th edition of Vive Latino finds Sepultura in the middle of saying goodbye. In Mexico City, Celebrating Life Through Death turns the festival stop into one more stage of the band's planned ending. Greyson Nekrutman is on drums, a post he took in 2024 after Eloy Casagrande's departure.
Derrick Green, Andreas Kisser and Paulo Jr. share the stage with the new drummer in a sequence that starts with Refuse/Resist and Territory. Escape to the Void revisits the Schizophrenia era, while Means to an End and Agony of Defeat bring in Quadra. Nekrutman's solo comes before Ratamahatta; Roots Bloody Roots closes the show.
The farewell does not end in Mexico: the route continues to Lollapalooza Argentina and Chile. The Vive Latino stop is captured in the festival broadcast, distributed by Prime Video and Twitch. Rather than a retrospective release, the recording follows a band still on the road to finish its story.
- The drum solo paves the way for the final run of Ratamahatta and Roots Bloody Roots.
