Septicflesh — Graspop Metal Meeting 2015
Recorded June 21, 2015
Festivalterrein Stenehei — Marquee · Dessel · Belgium
Setlist not available.
“To see Septicflesh at Graspop during Krimh's first year on drums, still in the Titan era.”
Context
A tent with plenty of open space still left welcomes Septicflesh in Dessel on June 21, 2015. Titan had arrived a year earlier, and Krimh had taken over the drums in December. The Graspop stop finds the Greeks taking this new lineup to European festivals.
Under green lights, Spiros appears in black leather armor and calls on the crowd during Communion. Krimh also urges the movement on, and the first mosh pits form as the show goes on. Between songs, the members turn toward the drum kit. The recorded backing tracks carry the symphonic dimension without an orchestra on stage.
Prometheus closes the set without a conventional goodbye: the musicians walk off while the recording keeps playing. The band's path continues through Codex Omega, in 2017, and the meeting with orchestra and choir in Mexico, in 2019. Here, the scale is different: four musicians carry the physical structure of the show.
- Prometheus closes the show with the musicians leaving over a recorded backing track.
