Context
In October 2004, Lamb of God reach the Trocadero a few weeks after releasing Ashes of the Wake, their Epic debut. The Philadelphia stop takes two nights, the 16th and 17th. The cameras find a band taking the new album on the road without abandoning their early work.
Randy Blythe takes vocals, Mark Morton and Willie Adler share guitars, and John Campbell plays bass with Chris Adler on drums. Laid to Rest opens the musical sequence; Hourglass and Omerta reinforce the recent material. Bloodletting reaches back to the Burn the Priest repertoire. Between songs, the edit makes room for the backstage side of the tour.
Directed by Doug Spangenberg, the two performances take the form of a film, not a single continuous night. The recording reaches DVD through Epic in June 2005 and gets a reissue with a CD in December. Killadelphia preserves this turning point: the jump to a major label still meets the songs of their origins.
