“To see Sepultura close the Machine Messiah tour and debut Isolation on the same stage.”
Context
On October 4, 2019, Sepultura open the Palco Mundo on Rock in Rio's metal day. The show closes the Machine Messiah tour, but it is not just a look back at the road. Among songs from different eras, the group prepares the move to Quadra.
Arise and Territory open the sequence, while Andreas Kisser and Derrick Green call for mosh pits. Before Refuse/Resist, the screen shows a photo of Andre Matos, and the intro of Carry On turns the memory into music. Massive Attack's Angel widens the contrast before the debut of Isolation.
Ratamahatta and Roots Bloody Roots close the show, with Green also on percussion alongside Eloy Casagrande. Quadra arrives in 2020, after its name and cover were revealed on that stage. The Multishow broadcast preserves this passage: the end of one tour already holds the first move of the next.
- The tribute to Andre Matos brings the intro of Carry On before Refuse/Resist.
- Angel places Massive Attack between the classics and the first taste of Quadra.
