Context
The Bochum night arrives a month late. The filming scheduled for September had been canceled after an infection sent Warrel Dane to the hospital. On October 11, 2006, Nevermore finally takes over the Zeche to record the show that will be the centerpiece of its first DVD.
Dane sings in front of Jeff Loomis and Chris Broderick, who takes second guitar during Steve Smyth's absence. Jim Sheppard and Van Williams complete the lineup. Final Product and My Acid Words open the run; the medley of What Tomorrow Knows with Garden of Grey takes the set back to the first album.
This Godless Endeavor takes the encore and gives the close the name of the album driving the tour. Two years later, the show is released on DVD and audio by Century Media. Surrounded by festival footage and archival material, the Bochum show remains the centerpiece of The Year of the Voyager.
- Chris Broderick shares guitars with Jeff Loomis during Steve Smyth's absence.
