Sepultura took Brazilian metal from a Belo Horizonte basement to the world map, not as exoticism but as a historical force. From raw death-thrash to the tribal groove of Roots, the band reinvented heaviness with an accent of its own. After the Cavaleras left, it survived through sheer stubbornness, creating another lineage: less family myth, more discipline, conflict and endurance.
