Context
On the banks of the Rhine–Herne Canal, Sepultura reach the Sunday of Rock Hard Festival between two cycles. Kairos still carries the third European leg of their tour, while the next album is already in preparation. On May 19, 2013, Gelsenkirchen welcomes the quartet before they enter the studio with Ross Robinson.
Derrick Green, Andreas Kisser and Paulo Jr. share the stage with Eloy Casagrande, whose power and precision on drums draw attention that afternoon. Troops of Doom opens the sequence, which runs through Kairos, Sepulnation and Altered State. Polícia brings Titãs into the set; Arise comes before the close with Ratamahatta and Roots Bloody Roots.
After the European run, the band heads to California to record the follow-up to Kairos. The performance airs on television via Rockpalast, from the German broadcaster WDR, which records the festival's Sunday. Between the album still on tour and the next one, the broadcast preserves this lineup at a moment of transition.
- Arise brings together Andreas Kisser's guitar and Eloy Casagrande's precision.
