Context
Between March 2025 and March 2026, Gilberto Gil travels through arenas and stadiums with a farewell of defined scale: Tempo Rei ends the cycle of big tours, not his relationship with music. The recording gathers different cities instead of fixing this passage in a single night.
Palco opens the journey in São Paulo; Um Banda Um takes the edit to Fortaleza. Belo Horizonte supplies Tempo Rei, Eu Vim da Bahia and Cálice, while Domingo no Parque comes from Belém. Bem Gil and José Gil lead musically a band that gathers family, percussion, accordions, brass and strings.
After the tour closes in São Paulo, the material takes shape as audio and video. The first volume arrives on June 26, 2026, Gil's 84th birthday, opening a four-part series. The farewell to big tours finds another duration: separate performances come together as a collective memory of the stage.
- Domingo no Parque brings Belém into an edit that also passes through São Paulo, Fortaleza, Belo Horizonte and Rio.
