Context
On February 13, 1965, Bethânia makes her professional debut in Opinião. Fifty-six years later, the same date marks her first livestream, broadcast from Cidade das Artes. The pandemic suspends the meeting with the audience, and the performance takes place with no crowd or guests, streamed on Globoplay.
Explode Coração opens the program, which moves through Kirimurê, Balada de Gisberta and Cálice. The sequence includes 2 de Junho, tied to the death of the boy Miguel, along with Evidências and Olhos nos Olhos. Luminosidade previews the Noturno phase. Between songs, Bethânia reads poems and speaks to those watching from afar.
The recording fixes a career anniversary under conditions that change the relationship between stage and audience. The performance circulates again in uploads made after the broadcast. The close with O Que É, O Que É? keeps the meeting a celebration, shaped by the context of 2021.
