Tour albumFé na Festa2010 · Fé na FestaThe show takes to the stage the project dedicated to northeastern rhythms and expands the repertoire with classics of the June festival songbook.“To see Gil turn the Retiro dos Artistas into a June festival party with Dominguinhos, in the Fé na Festa era.”
Context
In 2010, São João finds an address at the Retiro dos Artistas in Jacarepaguá. Gil brings the Fé na Festa project to Rio after touring the show through the Northeast and Europe. Lights, balloons and food carts make up the festival grounds set up for the recording directed by Andrucha Waddington.
On stage, zabumba, percussion, accordion, violin and rabeca share space with bass, acoustic and electric guitars. Gil stitches together new songs and Luiz Gonzaga's songbook. Qui Nem Jiló meets Expresso 2222; Dominguinhos joins the party and teams up with his partner on Lamento Sertanejo and the xote Um Riacho, Um Caminho.
The gathering is released on DVD and Blu-ray that same year, 2010, by the Geléia Geral label in partnership with Universal. Waddington brings to the screen another of Gil's approaches to the June festivals. The recording preserves this meeting between the recent repertoire and the songs that ground his northeastern project.
- Qui Nem Jiló and Expresso 2222 meet in the same medley.
- Um Riacho, Um Caminho puts the two partners side by side.
