Album featured at the showFé na Festa2010Fé na Festa, Assim, Sim and Dança da Moda revisit the 2010 album dedicated to the rhythms of the June festivals.“To celebrate Gil's 78th birthday at a family June festival party during the pandemic isolation.”
Context
On June 26, 2020, Gilberto Gil's 78th birthday meets a São João with no street parties. Isolated at the family's country home in Araras, the singer turns the domestic celebration into a benefit stream. The proceeds go to backstage professionals left without work by the pandemic.
Bela Gil hosts the party, and Gil gathers his children Bem, José and Nara alongside Mestrinho and Jorginho Gomes. Guitar, percussion, accordion and zabumba hold up the gathering. Preta Gil joins in on Eu Só Quero um Xodó; Asa Branca and Respeita Januário bring the celebration close to Luiz Gonzaga's songbook.
The night also makes room for Andar com Fé, Expresso 2222 and tributes from friends, without leaving the northeastern axis. In May 2021, part of the performance is released on record as São João em Araras. The family gathering goes beyond the stream and remains a record of a party built in the middle of isolation.
- Preta Gil sings Eu Só Quero um Xodó with her father.
