Context
The work of Luiz Gonzaga meets a string ensemble in Belo Horizonte. In March 2025, Orquestra Ouro Preto records Gonzagão: Concerto para Cordas e Trio Pé de Serra at Centro Cultural Minas Tênis Clube. Rodrigo Toffolo conducts the project, with arrangements by Mateus Freire.
Assum Preto starts the musical block identified in the upload, followed by Sabiá and Paraíba. Asa Branca and Xote das Meninas are part of the sequence, alongside Respeita Januário and Pau de Arara. Pedro Pablo plays accordion, Natalia Mitre takes the triangle and Dil Brasil the zabumba, setting up the trio in dialogue with the orchestra.
The album and the film are released in December 2025, by Musickeria. Luiz Abreu directs the video, which incorporates stage footage and images of the creative process. The edit documents the tribute through the collective work of orchestra and trio.
