Context
Twenty years separate the original quartet from this reunion in São Paulo. Alceu Valença returns to O Grande Encontro alongside Elba Ramalho and Geraldo Azevedo, now without Zé Ramalho. At Citibank Hall, in 2016, the anniversary takes on another structure: a full band fills the space once reserved mainly for voices and acoustic guitars.
The trio alternates solos, duets and group numbers, with electric guitars, accordion, horns and percussion in the backing. Anunciação opens the run, which passes through Dia Branco and Chão de Giz before reaching Banho de Cheiro and Frevo Mulher. Among the hits, Só Depois de Muito Amor Eu Vou Embora and Ciranda da Traição introduce new songs.
The reunion takes to the road and reaches the New Year's Eve celebration on Copacabana. In December 2016, Sony Music releases the recording on CD and DVD, in several physical editions. Tesoura do Desejo and O Princípio do Prazer are left to the film's extras: two individual spaces within a project built to share the stage.
- Só Depois de Muito Amor Eu Vou Embora and Ciranda da Traição renew the meeting with new songs.
