Context
Before noon on August 10, 2012, Freedom Call is scheduled to take the Ronnie James Dio stage at Bloodstock. The lineup gives the German quartet forty minutes. Land of the Crimson Dawn had arrived in February, and Journey to the Crimson Dawn now makes its way through the festival circuit.
Chris Bay handles vocals and guitar alongside Lars Rettkowitz, with Samy Saemann on bass and Klaus Sperling on drums. Rockstars and Power & Glory introduce the recent album. Around them, United Alliance and Tears of Babylon meet Warriors and Land of Light, before the closing Freedom Call.
After Bloodstock, the tour heads to Mannheim and Vienna. In 2013, the compilation Ages of Light marks the group's fifteenth anniversary, while another lineup begins to take shape with Ilker Ersin and Ramy Ali. The festival recording preserves the previous quartet, still gathered around Land of the Crimson Dawn.
