Blind Guardian

Blind Guardian emerged in Krefeld, Germany, in 1984, still as Lucifer’s Heritage, and took its current name in 1987. The band moved from the speed metal of its early records to more elaborate arrangements on Tales From the Twilight World and Somewhere Far Beyond.

Imaginations from the Other Side consolidated that phase, and Nightfall in Middle-Earth, inspired by Tolkien, deepened the group’s ties to fantasy literature. The group remains active and released The God Machine in 2022.
