Context
Another band's delay changes the scale of LOVEBITES' Bloodstock debut. Scheduled for the Sophie Lancaster stage, the Japanese quintet takes the main stage on August 10, 2018, moving its performance to an earlier slot. Suicidal Tendencies had not yet arrived, and the switch happens at the last minute.
Asami takes the microphone, with Midori and Miyako on guitars, Miho on bass, and Haruna on drums. The Hammer of Wrath opens a five-song run. The Crusade and Above the Black Sea introduce the recent Battle Against Damnation; Don't Bite the Dust revisits the first EP, while Shadowmaker closes the show.
The appearance in England comes six days after Wacken, in the band's first year of festivals. In the following months, the group embarks on its first European tour and releases Clockwork Immortality in December. The Bloodstock footage preserves this stretch: the original lineup is already reaching major festivals before putting out its second album.
