Trans-Siberian Orchestra emerged in 1996, in the United States, as a project of Paul O’Neill with musicians connected to Savatage. The track “Christmas Eve (Sarajevo 12/24)”, released by Savatage, inspired the debut album, Christmas Eve and Other Stories. The band expanded its theatrical rock concept on The Christmas Attic and Beethoven’s Last Night, alternating concept albums with annual holiday tours. After O’Neill’s death in 2017, it carried on.
