Symphony X

Symphony X formed in Middletown, New Jersey, in 1994, founded by guitarist Michael Romeo. After the debut album, the arrival of vocalist Russell Allen marked a new phase, captured on The Damnation Game. The Divine Wings of Tragedy and V: The New Mythology Suite established the band in progressive metal, while Paradise Lost and Iconoclast pushed its sound toward heavier arrangements. The group released Underworld in 2015 and remains active.
