Context
At noon on August 5, 2011, Primal Fear takes Wacken's Party Stage. The time slot contrasts with the weight of the set: the band arrives with 16.6 still its most recent studio work and gathers ten songs spanning different stages of its career.
Ralf Scheepers leads the vocal attack, while Alex Beyrodt and Magnus Karlsson split the guitars. Mat Sinner holds down bass and backing vocals, with Randy Black on drums. Battalions of Hate and Running in the Dust revisit the debut; Nuclear Fire and Six Times Dead bring generations of the catalog together. Final Embrace and Metal Is Forever close the show.
After Wacken, the next studio chapter arrives in January 2012 with Unbreakable. The show also leaves a mark on the festival's physical archive: Metal Is Forever appears on the Live at Wacken 2011 compilation, released on DVD and Blu-ray the following year. The closer represents the group among the artists of that edition.
- Alex Beyrodt and Magnus Karlsson split the guitars, with Randy Black on drums.
