Context
In October 2001, Depeche Mode take over Bercy for two nights on the European leg of the Exciter Tour. The new album had come out in May. In front of 16,000 people, Dave Gahan, Martin Gore and Andy Fletcher meet Anton Corbijn, the collaborator who turns the Paris stop into a film.
On stage, the trio expands with Christian Eigner on drums, Peter Gordeno on keyboards and the voices of Jordan Bailey and Georgia Lewis. The Dead of Night opens the body of the show. Dream On and Freelove share space with Enjoy the Silence, while It Doesn't Matter Two gets an acoustic version.
The film arrives in May 2002, on VHS and double DVD, with documentaries and additional material. Although the cover highlights October 10, the edit also includes the night before. It Doesn't Matter Two holds that difference: one set-list choice lets two shows survive under the name of one.
- It Doesn't Matter Two preserves the acoustic choice of the first night, missing from the second night's set.
