Context
On March 21, 2024, the Grande salle Pierre Boulez hosts the second of two Nils Frahm concerts at the Philharmonie de Paris. The Music For tour meets a recent novelty: Day, released twenty days earlier, puts solo piano back in the foreground after the sprawling Music For Animals.
On stage, Frahm moves between keyboards, synthesizers, percussion and glass harmonica. Right Right Right and Briefly extend the presence of Music For Animals, while You Name It brings the new record into the hall. Some and Re bring back another scale of composition, and Spells links this journey to the material of All Encores.
The night gets a second life in December, when LEITER releases Paris on double vinyl and digital. It holds ten tracks and 84 minutes, Frahm's first live album devoted to a single performance. The broadcast also preserves the physical side of this work: one musician among acoustic instruments and machines.
- You Name It brings the newly released Day to the stage.
