Context
In April 1986, Depeche Mode arrives at Wembley Arena with Black Celebration still freshly released. The London stop takes up two nights, April 16 and 17, closing the tour's first British and Irish leg. The new record gets room without erasing the early years.
Dave Gahan takes lead vocals, while Martin Gore, Andrew Fletcher and Alan Wilder hold up the electronic lineup. Black Celebration opens the sequence, followed by A Question Of Time and Fly On The Windscreen. Gore takes the microphone for It Doesn't Matter Two and A Question Of Lust, two tracks from the new album.
After London, the tour moves on to continental Europe and reaches North America and Japan before ending in August. The Wembley footage remains outside the official releases and circulates as a bootleg. The recording preserves this meeting between seven songs from Black Celebration and a catalog that still includes Photographic and Boys Say Go.
- Martin Gore takes lead vocals on It Doesn't Matter Two and A Question Of Lust.
