Corrosion of Conformity — Bloodstock Open Air 2012

On Sunday morning, August 12, 2012, Corrosion of Conformity takes the Ronnie James Dio Stage without Pepper Keenan. Mike Dean, Woody Weatherman and Reed Mullin had revived the band as a trio in 2010. Now, a newly released self-titled album brings fresh material to this reunion with their own roots.

At Bloodstock, the trio moves through nearly three decades of material. Loss for Words and Mad World share space with Vote With a Bullet, Deliverance and Positive Outlook, alongside the 2012 songs. The heaviness meets a tangible obstacle: bass amplifier problems run through the performance, without keeping the band from getting the crowd moving.

The trio era continues after the festival: the EP Megalodon arrives later in 2012, and IX follows in 2014. Pepper Keenan returns in 2015. The Bloodstock recording remains a document of that interval, when three members carry the band's name and bring its different eras together on the same stage.
