Context
On August 12, 2016, Corrosion of Conformity arrives at Bloodstock with two concrete problems: the instruments are stuck in Paris, and Reed Mullin has injured his knee. Cancellation was considered. John Green, the band's drum tech, steps in without rehearsal; other bands lend the necessary equipment.
Under the afternoon sun at Catton Hall, Pepper Keenan leads a set focused on Deliverance. Broken Man, Seven Days and Señor Limpio follow in sequence, with heavy guitars and a steady pace. Vote With a Bullet ramps up the pressure. To close, Clean My Wounds makes room for an improvised jam before the main stage crowd.
The performance takes place during the reunion with Keenan, which began in 2015, but takes on an emergency lineup this English afternoon. In September, the full professional recording begins circulating, preserving the 45-minute festival set. What remains is a band that works around its drummer's absence and carries the show with borrowed gear.
- John Green takes over on drums without rehearsal, while Hark lends guitars.
- Clean My Wounds closes the show with an improvised jam.
