Context
The European summer of 2011 finds Alter Bridge on the road with AB III. On June 5, the band takes the Nürburgring, in Nürburg, for Rock am Ring. The third album is already part of the set, while One Day Remains and Blackbird supply the material from earlier stages.
Slip to the Void opens the selection, followed by Find the Real and Buried Alive. White Knuckles, Ghost of Days Gone By and Ties That Bind keep moving between albums. After Come to Life, Mark Tremonti and Myles Kennedy trade solos; Rise Today comes before Isolation at the close.
A few days later, the European route continues through Download and Pinkpop. Later that year, the tour reaches Wembley Arena and yields another recording, officially released in 2012. The German broadcast keeps a shorter slice of the same cycle, with ten entries between songs and the meeting of the two guitars.
