Butcher Babies — European Metal Festival Alliance 2020

In August 2020, the European festival calendar gives way to screens. With in-person gatherings suspended by the pandemic, European Metal Festival Alliance brings independent organizers together for a benefit program. Butcher Babies joins the effort with material prepared for a season without the usual live circuit.

The band's approach alternates between two concrete settings: recordings made during quarantine and live performances in Las Vegas. Heidi Shepherd and Carla Harvey share vocals, with Henry Flury on guitar, Ricky Bonazza on bass, and Chase Brickenden on drums. The program brings domestic isolation closer to the memory of the stage.

After the August broadcast, the performance becomes publicly available in September. Lilith, from 2017, remains the band's most recent album, while a fourth release is still on the horizon. The recording stands as a document of an interruption: the band stays active while festivals look for a way to survive.
