Context
On October 4, 2019, Iron Maiden returns to Rock in Rio for the fourth time. Legacy of the Beast reaches the Parque Olímpico with a retrospective that turns war, religion and freedom into sets. The night's 90,000 tickets had sold out in less than two hours.
On stage, an airplane is part of the set design, while Bruce Dickinson changes costumes, carries crosses and lanterns and takes on Eddie in a duel. Aces High opens the route. The Clansman and Sign of the Cross share space with The Trooper and Fear of the Dark: the band's past takes on bodies and objects.
After Rio, the Brazilian leg moves on to São Paulo and Porto Alegre, where the 2019 calendar ends. The Rio show reaches television through the festival broadcast. The recording preserves this version of Legacy of the Beast, before the tour was interrupted and resumed in 2022.
- Dickinson takes on Eddie in a staged fight that ends with the Brazilian flag.
