Context
The heat doesn't let up on the final day of Bloodstock 2022. On August 14, Butcher Babies takes the Ronnie James Dio stage at Catton Park, still fronted by Heidi Shepherd and Carla Harvey. Lilith was nearly five years old, and new singles had been circulating since 2020.
The two vocalists lead the crowd's chants while Henry Flury keeps things moving with his riffs. Fans are invited to crowd-surf to the front and exchange greetings with the duo. Contact at the barrier is part of the performance on this festival Sunday.
After this stop in England, the band releases the double album Eye for an Eye… / …'Til the World's Blind in July 2023. The Bloodstock recording preserves the lineup before Harvey's departure, announced in 2024: two voices share the front line before Shepherd takes on that role alone.
