Metal Church

Metal Church is one of the roughest bridges between American heavy metal and the thrash that was stripping paint off the walls in the 1980s. Born in San Francisco and shaped by Seattle, the band turned Kurdt Vanderhoof's precision and David Wayne's incendiary voice into a liturgy of steel. Through breakups, returns, and new singers, it held on to the idea that metal can have grandeur without losing its edge.
