Context
On August 9, 2019, Soulfly arrives on the Ronnie James Dio stage at Bloodstock with Ritual still fresh. The 2018 album shapes the stop in Walton-on-Trent without overshadowing the band's roots. Alongside Max Cavalera are Marc Rizzo, Mike Leon and his son Zyon on drums.
The Summoning opens the attack, and Prophecy and Babylon bridge the gap to Ritual and Dead Behind the Eyes. Max trades his guitar for a berimbau in a passage that leads into Tribe. The collective call meets Get Up, Stand Up by the Wailers, before Jumpdafuckup sets up the closing Eye for an Eye.
In February 2020, the full performance begins circulating in professional footage from the festival. The recording preserves a lineup that stays together until Marc Rizzo's departure in 2021. Here, material from Ritual shares space with the debut album without turning the Bloodstock stop into a simple retrospective.
- Max Cavalera's berimbau leads the transition from Tribe to Get Up, Stand Up.
