Context
On August 9, 2026, OMD's synthpop meets the black-clad crowd of M'era Luna at the Hildesheim airfield. The Summer of Hits reaches the festival after a stop in Rochdale. Andy McCluskey and Paul Humphreys keep at center stage the partnership that founded the group.
Atomic Ranch plays as the four musicians walk on, and Isotype opens the show. McCluskey announces in German that it is time for synthpop before Electricity, then takes up the bass. Humphreys sings (Forever) Live and Die; Martin Cooper and Stuart Kershaw complete the quartet. Veruschka brings this run close to the album Bauhaus Staircase.
Enola Gay closes the set, before the tour moves on to Hanau and Stuttgart. The ARTE Concert and NDR footage preserves the festival appearance and is available on demand. Without settling for the early hits, the film puts songs from different decades within the same hour on stage.
- Paul Humphreys takes lead vocals on (Forever) Live and Die.
