“To see eight performers and groups brought together by ARTE in the tribute marking ten years since Bowie's death.”
Context
Ten years after David Bowie's death, the tribute swaps a single stage for a journey between London and Paris. Thierry Gautier and Sylvain Leduc bring together artists from different generations in studio sessions and live performances. The meeting point is not a fixed lineup but eight songs handed to different performers.
The Molotovs open with Rebel Rebel at the Electric Ballroom. The Horrors take on Heroes, while La Roux picks Fascination and Jeanne Added sings Let's Dance. Carl Barât and Peter Doherty meet on Rock 'n' Roll Suicide. Anna Calvi shares Sound and Vision with Isobel Waller-Bridge; The Divine Comedy and Yasmine Hamdan round out the musical sequence.
Between the songs, the film makes room for behind-the-scenes footage and for these artists' relationship with Bowie. Produced in 2025, it reaches ARTE's schedule in January 2026, marking a decade since his death. The edit keeps the plurality of the gathering: it does not rebuild a Bowie concert, it hands his songs to other presences.
- Anna Calvi and Isobel Waller-Bridge share Sound and Vision.
