Context
In June 2026, the galleries of Ghent's Museum of Fine Arts welcome a songwriter who also thinks in images. Paris Paloma arrives after the reach of labour, released in 2023, and finds in the works of Bosch and Camille Claudel ways to discuss the feminist roots of her songs.
The performance swaps the conventional stage for the museum's galleries. A choir and a string section accompany new arrangements, while Paloma brings music and the visual arts together. I Cry in Front of Paintings and Pre-Raphaelite make that link explicit; labour shares space with Miyazaki, Rothko and Stem the Flow.
Part of this material is still awaiting release when the session takes place. In September, The Fatal Flaw collects many of these songs, and the performance circulates as an ARTE special directed by Flo Breuer. The journey ends outside the galleries: late at night, Paloma sings alone with an acoustic guitar on the museum's staircase.
- The close leaves the choir and strings behind for a solo acoustic performance on the staircase.
