Context
Forty years after the meeting that gave birth to Les Rita Mitsouko, Catherine Ringer brings their songs to the Grande salle Pierre Boulez. The Philharmonie de Paris devotes a weekend to the duo in September 2019. Fred Chichin died in 2007; the celebration happens with his absence at the center of this story.
Ringer sings backed by six musicians, among them her son Raoul Chichin on guitar and Noël Assolo on bass. Dee Nasty takes the turntables on Y'a d'la haine and Hip Kit. Marcia Baïla comes in the first block; Andy, Même si and C'est comme ça lead the home stretch of the nineteen songs.
The celebration coincides with the reissue of the Rita Mitsouko catalog and continues on the road in a tour devoted to the group. In December 2020, the Philharmonie recording comes out on CD and vinyl with a DVD. The celebration is no longer just a live gathering: it earns its own place in the discography it revisits.
