“To see Milton Nascimento meet Duran Duran at Vélez during the acoustic phase of The Wedding Album.”
Context
In April 1993, Duran Duran arrives at Vélez Sarsfield with an acoustic approach on a stadium scale. Ordinary World and Come Undone had put the band back on the charts. Buenos Aires welcomes this new phase with Simon Le Bon, John Taylor, Nick Rhodes and Warren Cuccurullo leading the lineup.
The opening breaks the usual logic of a concert: Breath After Breath appears twice, with Milton Nascimento, for the filming of the music video. Violins and cello are part of the ensemble. The Chauffeur gets an acoustic version, while The Crystal Ship and Success make room for The Doors and Iggy Pop among the band's own compositions.
The world tour continues through the rest of 1993 and into 1994. The Argentine footage has two destinations: the concert broadcast and the visual work for Breath After Breath. The audio also circulates in unofficial editions. The recording preserves the meeting with Milton within a broader transformation of the repertoire.
- Breath After Breath opens the performance in two takes meant for the music video shoot.
