“To catch Siamese Dream before the arenas, in an acoustic show inside Chicago's Tower Records.”
Context
Chicago welcomes The Smashing Pumpkins at Tower Records for an acoustic show tied to the arrival of Siamese Dream. The event takes place on the night of July 26, 1993, right at the turn to the release.
The format shrinks the distance between band and audience inside a record store. Songs from the new album appear in acoustic arrangements, alongside earlier material. The show belongs to a setting different from festivals and big halls.
The file captures the release before its reach changed the band's scale. Thirty years later, the Pumpkins would return to the idea of this show in a Siamese Dream celebration. What remains here is the original night at Tower Records.
