Context
On June 8, 1992, Landgraaf hosts Soundgarden in the thick of its European run for Badmotorfinger. The band shares the Pinkpop bill with Pearl Jam, Lou Reed and PJ Harvey. In between opening dates for Guns N’ Roses, the quartet brings to the festival a phase that comes before the commercial expansion of Superunknown.
Chris Cornell takes vocals and guitar alongside Kim Thayil, Ben Shepherd and Matt Cameron. The surviving stretch opens with Rusty Cage, passes through Jesus Christ Pose and spills into Slaves & Bulldozers. At the close, Rain, Rain Go Away and Roadhouse Blues come in as a medley, setting a children's rhyme next to a song from The Doors' repertoire.
The schedule continues across Europe and, that year, also takes in Lollapalooza. The footage had a narrower fate than the band's journey: of a set lasting roughly 55 minutes, only the final 21 minutes filmed by NTR survive. The archive holds a fragment, not the whole night, centered on songs from the record that drives the tour.
- The closing stretch crosses Rain, Rain Go Away with Roadhouse Blues, by The Doors.
