Context
In July 2012, the Auditorium Stravinski welcomes Nightwish in the middle of the Imaginaerum World Tour. The festival's name says jazz; the band arrives with symphonic metal and a theatrical set. Anette Olzon still holds center stage, months before the split that changes the tour's voice.
Tuomas Holopainen plays surrounded by structures that recall organ pipes. Marko Hietala shares vocals with Anette, while Emppu Vuorinen roams the stage and Jukka Nevalainen holds down the drums. Troy Donockley joins on four songs. The broadcast selection starts with Slow, Love, Slow and reaches Last Ride of the Day.
In October, Floor Jansen takes over vocals for the rest of the tour. The Montreux recording airs on RTSDeux in 2013, in an edit of about fifty minutes. The DVD initially planned never materializes. The recording remains a television document of a lineup that had already come to an end.
- Troy Donockley joins four songs, including Come Cover Me and the Gary Moore cover.
