Context
On August 3, 2019, Wacken reaches the final day of its 30th edition. In the Bullhead City Circus, Septicflesh carries on the Codex Omega era, its tenth studio album and the first recorded with Krimh on drums. The record already had almost two years on the road.
Seth Siro Anton handles vocals and bass, joined by the guitars of Christos Antoniou and Dinos Psychon Prassas. Portrait of a Headless Man opens the eight-song sequence, and Martyr keeps Codex Omega in the spotlight. Pyramid God, Communion and Anubis widen the selection before Dark Art closes the set.
The Wacken recording stays separate from the symphonic project the band had filmed in Mexico in February of that year. That other concert is released on audio and video in 2020 as Infernus Sinfonica MMXIX. Here, the compact festival format is preserved: eight songs to condense the Codex Omega era.
- Portrait of a Headless Man opens the show; Dark Art closes the eight numbers.
