Context
In November 2019, the former 9-9bis mining complex hosts the fourth edition of Tyrant Fest. Septicflesh takes the Métaphone on Saturday the 16th, with Codex Omega still its most recent work. The booking places the Greeks' symphonic death metal inside a festival devoted to metal's darker strains.
Spiros Antoniou leads the set between bass, vocals and calls to the crowd. Christos Antoniou and Dinos Prassas share guitars, with Krimh on drums. Portrait of a Headless Man clears the way for Pyramid God and Martyr. Further on, Persepolis sparks a wall of death; Anubis comes before the close with Dark Art.
The show is documented with footage shot and edited by We Are Focus and audio recorded and mixed by Florin Quentin. The full release arrives in February 2020. It is a separate document from the orchestral concert held in Mexico that same year: here, the scale is that of a quartet on a festival stage.
- Persepolis leads Spiros to call for a wall of death.
